I had no problems at all, although benchmarks showed slower speeds compared to Intel's, which confirms what I said earlier. I tested the drive thoroughly (using Microsoft's default drivers) and ran benchmarks on it and rebooted several times. But that is something I have to accept, since we all know the Asmedia ports are slower than Intel's. Booting is quick, although not as fast as it was when it used to be plugged into the Intel ports. It booted up fine with no BSODs or any other issues.

While plugged into the Asmedia port, I reinstalled Windows 7 on the Samsung SSD after formatting the drive first.

Thank you for the assistance in solving this problem. Is there a solution to this problem so that I can successfully bootup the SSD using the Asmedia ports? I have the latest Asmedia SATA driver installed (1.3.4.000), and the latest BIOS. The Samsung SSD boots up fine when it is plugged into the Intel ports. I have tested the Samsung SSD on both available Asmedia ports (SATA Port 7 and 8), and the crash on boot up occurs on both these ports. So I have had to transfer the Samsung SSD to the Asmedia port. I know it is better to use the Intel ports vs the Asmedia ports (due to faster speeds), but I recently bought 2 more larger capacity SSDs which are now plugged into and occupying both Intel SATA III ports (Port 1 and 2).

Five seconds into the boot, after the Windows 7 boot screen animation appears, the system displays a Blue screen of death and promptly reboots.

Unfortunately, it now crashes whenever I boot up the Samsung SSD. Everything worked perfectly until yesterday when I plugged the SSD into the Asmedia ASM1061 SATA III port (The Asmedia ports are also set on AHCI mode). About a year ago, I installed Windows 7 64bit on a Samsung 830 SSD which was plugged into the Intel SATA III 6Gb/s port (set to AHCI mode prior to install).
